It all started more than 20 years ago. Our owner and founder, Ben DeVries, went looking for a trade that paid well and had steady demand, and he landed on electrical work. What began as a smart career move turned into something he genuinely enjoys, and Advanced Electrical Repair has been serving Milliken and the surrounding communities since 2015. Residential work makes up most of our days, though we handle commercial jobs too, and there's no such thing as a job too small around here.
Two decades in the trade teach you things a textbook can't. Ben has become one of the better troubleshooters in Colorado, and that shows up most in older homes, where the wiring often reflects decades of additions, shortcuts, and previous owners who meant well. When a problem doesn't follow the rules, experience and instinct usually get there faster than a manual does, and finding an answer for a house that's stumped other electricians is the part of this job we like best. The rest comes down to basics that shouldn't be rare: we return calls, we show up when we said we would, and we tell you what's happening in language that makes sense.
Guessing at an electrical problem gets expensive fast, so we start by tracking down the actual cause instead of replacing parts and hoping. Electrical repairs we handle include outlets that quit working, breakers that won't stay set, tired switches, and emergencies that pop up at inconvenient hours.
Think of your panel as the traffic cop for everything plugged in at your house, and older ones weren't built for the load a modern family puts on them. Through our electrical panel upgrades, we replace outdated panels and breakers, bump up your service, bring things in line with current code, and inspect the rest of the system while we're at it.
Waking up to a full battery beats planning your errands around a public charging stop. With our electric vehicle (EV) charger installation service, we set up Level 2 units, Tesla chargers, and home charging stations on dedicated circuits built to carry the load, after checking whether your panel can support one.
Nobody wants to finish a basement and then realize the outlets landed in all the wrong spots. Our basement finishing electrical work puts wiring, switches, receptacles, and recessed lighting exactly where they make sense for how you'll use the room, and we take care of bathroom circuits along with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
That fixture sitting in the box in your garage has probably been there a while. A lighting installation is one of our favorite parts of the job, whether it's recessed cans, under-cabinet strips, a pendant over the island, a chandelier in the entry, ceiling fans, or landscape and security lights outside.
Big projects have a way of running into the wiring behind the walls sooner or later. Home wiring and electrical installations we take on include whole-home rewiring, swapping out aluminum wiring, running dedicated circuits for appliances, hot tubs, and in-ground pools, plus kitchen and bath work, additions, new construction, and smart home setups.
